Mentorship
TiE Austin recognizes the importance of mentors in a professional's career. To address this need, TiE has set up its mentoring service. The objective is to provide a member and entrepreneur with a mechanism to draw on knowledge and experience that is resident in TiE Charter members (all of whom have been successful in an entrepreneurial venture). The goal is to assist a member with his or her business ambition. Any TiE Austin member can request a personal mentoring session with TiE Charter members. The requests are processed on the basis of availability of mentors. The sessions last roughly one hour and topics of discussion are usually related to start-up companies or other professional matters.
We organize Mentoring Roundtables on a periodic basis to provide a regular venue for one-on-one interaction with TiE Charter members. We use a two-part formula:
- Panel Discussion with experienced Entrepreneurs and Professionals who tell it like it is in the Real World, and
- One-on-one private mentoring session for those seeking personalized guidance.
