TiE Institute
TiE Institute workshops are designed to Educate, Inspire and Impact.
As part of TiE's mission of providing networking, mentoring and education for its members, we are pleased to announce the launch of the TiE Institute in Austin. This launch emulates a very successful program modeled on the lines of TiE Silicon Valley. The Institute will provide value to our members by offering access to workshops in soft and hard skills critical to successful businesses. Examples of skills essential to an entrepreneur are leadership, communication, creativity, teamwork, negotiation, demand generation, and pricing. Many of these are not encountered in traditional college education, and when available are often tailored to the large organization rather than a start-up company with a lean leadership bench.
We have identified a short list of focused and easy to digest modules, able to be communicated in a 3 to 4 hour interactive session. The first Institute module was conducted on November 13, 2003. Four more workshops were scheduled in 2004, roughly one each quarter, and alternating with Mentoring Roundtable meetings.
We envision the Institute to become a source of actionable knowledge for entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs, professionals and students. The invited faculty, students, and staff, working together in small groups and one-on-one, will create a unique environment to advance skill-set, and pursue organizational and personal fulfillment. TiE Institute will draw on trainers from its charter members, sponsors, and their networks.
The TiE Institute offerings are being provided as a service to TiE members. TiE membership is open to all. We invite you to sign-up for one or more workshops and see for yourself how this experience will enhance your skill-set. We welcome your participation and suggestions.
